New Suzuki Swift has grown slightly in length (90 mm) with a 50 mm wheelbase. For powertrain, a new petrol engine that incorporates a 1.2 liter Dual VVT (variable intake and exhaust valve timing) is used which produces 94PS at 6,000 rpm, slightly more than the output of 1.3 liters. Torque is also improved to 118Nm at 4,800 rpm.

The new Suzuki Swift 1.2-liter engine with manual transmission produces just 116g/km on the combined cycle, which represents a 24g/km or 17 percent increase over the 1.3. An optional automatic transmission is available for motor gasoline since its launch. A 1.3-liter diesel engine will also be available and planned for introduction in the UK in early 2011, the engine emits 109g/km (down from 119g/km) and has an impressive combined fuel consumption 67.3mpg, an improvement in an already very credible 62.8mpg Swift DDiS output.(Via)
